About Bethelwoods

Bethelwoods is a ministry of the Presbyteries of Providence and Charleston Atlantic. These 100+ churches join together to provide a place for all people to experience rest and renewal as well as providing a place of education and recreation. Bethelwoods is open to all ages and has been ministering to people since 1965.

 
Bethelwoods is located at 922 West Mount Gallant Road York, SC 29745; less than an hour south of Charlotte, NC.

To Bethelwoods from Charlotte:
Take I-77 south to Exit 82-C (York/Hwy 161).  Go right at exit. Stay on Hwy 161 (Celanese Rd) for 5.5 miles. At junction of Hwy 901/161, continue straight through the stoplight towards York.  Go straight afain when you reach the stoplight in Newport. You will continue on Hwy 161 for one mile (you will pass the Pet Village) and you will then see signs for Bethelwoods at West Mt Gallant Rd. Turn left and proceed down this road for two miles. Bethelwoods will be immediately on your right. Turn into camp and follow the gravel road to Horton Lodge.

To Bethelwoods from Columbia:
Take I-77 north to Exit 73 (Hwy 901). Turn left onto Hwy 901. Stay on 901 through 10 stoplights over 10 miles. Hwy 901 will end, but continue on Hwy 161 for one mile (you will pass the Pet Village) and you will then see signs for Bethelwoods at West Mt Gallant Rd. Turn left and proceed down this road for two miles. Bethelwoods will be immediately on your right. Turn into camp and follow the gravel road to Horton Lodge.

To Bethelwoods from Greenville:
Take I-85 north to Exit 102 (Earl/Hwy 198). Turn right onto Hwy 198. Follow Hwy 198 to the stoplight. Go straight through this light and you will be on Hwy 5. Follow Hwy 5 through (or around) York and head towards Rock Hill. After passing the Eastview Baptist Church on your right, look for the Bethelwoods sign to turn left on Tirzah Rd.  If you pass the Food Express, you've gone too far. Continue on Tirzah Rd until the 4-way stop. Turn right onto West Mount Gallant Road and Bethelwoods will be immediately on your left. Turn into camp and follow the gravel road to Horton Lodge.
