Activities
Canoeing
Bethelwoods has eight canoes which can be used on our seven acre lake. Lifejackets are required and are provided along with paddles and are located in the storage facility next to the dock. Canoes are provided free of charge to contracted groups.
High Ropes Course
Bethelwoods has a new 8 element high ropes course. These elements are located 25 feet above the ground in beautiful hardwood trees which provide the added natural element and shade during warm months. High ropes courses works on "perceived risk" to take people out of their comfort zones into an area of challenge, uncertainty and growth. Through fun, excitement, challenge and an element of risk people frequently come to realizations of being able to do more than previously thought. This service is an extra charge as the camp provided trained facilitators to guide and keep safe individuals and groups in their experience. Helmets, harnesses, ropes and safety equipment are provided.
Initiative Course (group building)
The initiative course at Bethelwoods is frequently referred to as the team building course. This is a series of 8 fixed stations and a number of portable elements where trained facilitators work with a wide variety of groups learning life skills. Skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, servant hood, grace, community, and discipline are some of those taught experientially using these activities. Bethelwoods provides trained facilitators for these experiences. Each experience is tailored to meet the needs and desires of the group. Groups that have used these experiences include; schools, youth groups, sports teams, businesses, fire departments, church staff and much more.
Swimming Pool
The new pool at Bethelwoods was completed in 2006. It is a 90,000 gallon L shaped pool with a zero depth entry. This entry is ideal for handicap accessibility and young children. This area of the pool also has a large mushroom water feature and three water spouts which add an element of fun and excitement of children. The rest of the pool is great for swimming laps and playing games as it is 3.5 feet deep at one end and 5 feet deep at the other. Adjacent to the pool is a covered picnic are and nice large shower facilities. The pool area is a central feature of our summer camping program as well as being an area frequently rented by groups for parties and recreational swims. The pool is an extra charge for rental groups and lifeguards are provided.
Archery
The new archery area is a secluded area where groups can practice the target skills. This is a fun, safe area where staff supervise youth and help them in their effot to improve at one of the age old camp skills. There are a variety of bows designed for different age levels and strengths. This area is available to guest groups for a nominal fee to cover our staff supervision.
Hay Rides
What camp experience would be complete without a hay ride! The camp's wagon is pulled by a tractor driven by one of our trained staff and can hold up to 20 people per trip. This is a great way to see more of the camp's 157 acres and see some of the more secluded settings. The duration of the ride depends on the desires and size of the group. (Sometimes it is necessary to take shorter rides for larger groups.) These rides must be booked in advance and there is a nominal charge.

Bouldering Wall
Recreation for young and old. The goal is not to climb high as the wall is only 8 feet tall. The goal is to see how far along this 72 foot long stretch of wall you can traverse without coming off. Climbers are usually no more than three feet off the ground and this area is part of the playground area next to the Lake Lodge. This area is open and free to any group using the camp.
Fishing
The seven acre lake at camp does have some fish and many people annually try their hand at landing one. The camp does not provide poles or fishing tackle but guest groups are free to bring their own and try their hand. Fishing is restricted to campers and guest groups renting a Bethelwoods facility. Fishermen and women are free to fish from the shore or use a canoe.
