How does Bethelwoods live out this mission...
Bethelwoods offers a wide variety of programs and accommodations for many group types and sizes! We live into our mission each and every day by striving to provide Christian Hospitality to all of our guests.
For our Guest groups we offer complete packages to meet each groups' specific needs that include anything from large group gatherings to linens for the beds, food service to custom team building programs. Each group is also greeted by an on-site Host that will be available day or night to assist with any needs that might arise.
During our various other yearly programs and especially our Summer Camp programs we continue to seek out ways to engage in Christian Hospitality. We believe that by providing our Summer Staff with an in depth, quality training, we are able to create a welcoming environment where all campers feel safe to be themselves, explore their faith, and enjoy God's creation.

The History of Bethelwoods
Before Bethelwoods, the Piedmont Springs Conference grounds was the camp of Bethel Presbytery (now Providence Presbytery) from 1935 to 1960. The plan for Bethelwoods started on October 8th, 1959 when Bethel Presbytery approved the purchase of the property for $12,000. In April of 1964, the Presbytery constructed one main lodge and eight cabins. That following January, Bethel Presbytery also constructed a swimming pool, bath house, picnic area and a house for the director. After seven years of planning and work, Bethelwoods was dedicated on June 6th, 1965. The Rev. Bachman Harris was the first Director of Bethelwoods. Today, Bethelwoods continues to thrive in ministry with Providence and Charleston Atlantic Presbyteries offering a wide variety of events for people of all ages.
