Camper Stories and Experiences
"I made tons of new friends this summer at camp, most I'm still in contact with. I've come back to camp every year since the first year because getting to know people and sharing memories with them is so fun! Some of my favorite memories from this year are the counselors. They are always really nice and fun to get to know. I can't wait to go back to camp next year!" - Blakely

"I love camp because it is a place where you meet your true family. A place where you connect with God, and it really means something. A place for you to grow and learn. A place where everything that happens is with you, and you will never forget the memories that you have made. It is truly the one time of the year that I will never forget. The memories that I have made so far and the memories that are awaiting I could never be so grateful in my life." - Sumner

" Over this summer, I was lucky enough to do an overnight session twice at camp as well as a camp-in-a-van. All of them were amazing experiences, each with its own unique twist. As I’m in the 6th grade now, I won’t be eligible to do the same things I did this year, but I am very excited about doing Venture Camp. But anyway, my first session of camp was a camp-in-a-van. It rained a LOT that week, but my two amazing counselors helped us all to have fun whilst staying inside.
My second session was Junior Camp. Although I was breakfast, lunch, and dinner for chiggers, I still had a great time at camp playing Gaga Ball, canoeing, arts and crafts, and so many other amazing things at Bethelwoods. My counselor was awesome, the food was great as usual, and I left out of camp with so many new friends, experiences, and a stronger connection with Christ.
My third and final experience at camp this summer was on the final week of camp, and I did Mystery Camp for the first time. This session was awesome as me and one of my counselors shared a common love of history. But, I also had an amazing new experience solving a mystery and learning about Christ. This session was extra amazing because I got to visit my favorite part about camp, the labyrinth. The labyrinth is one of the most holy places in camp and is so peaceful and an awesome place to connect with God. Because it was the final week of camp, I got to say goodbye to a lot of counselors as well as campers. This time, I left with an even stronger connection with Christ.
The reason I keep coming back to camp is because it is my favorite place to connect with God and make amazing friends, and meet some awesome people. It is like a second home and is a great place to spend a few days or weeks."
